Conclusion
Diversity in Learning
In learning, diversity is a learning environment with people from different cultures, races, ethnicity, as well as different languages. The desired educational excellence can only be realized if educators act on the benefits diversity offers to learn.
Benefits of inclusion and diversity in learning
Diversity promotes creativity, cultural awareness, personal growth, social unity, cross-ethnicity friendship, and cognitive development.
Overcoming challenges of diversity
Instructors should promote personalization, inclusion, and a culturally responsive classroom to address learners with diverse backgrounds. MOOCs allow greater educational opportunities and interaction when the diverse setting and technology are integrated. Thomas et al. (1998, p.15) summarise this view as follows: “The notion of inclusion... does not set parameters (as the notion of integration did) around particular kinds of putative disability. Rather, it is about a philosophy of acceptance; it is about providing a framework within which all children – regardless of ability, gender, language, ethnic or cultural origin – can be valued equally, treated with respect and provided with equal opportunities at school” (as cited in Felder, 2021, p.2)
