Challenges
Both local and international learners lack peer engagement and intercultural communication (Hannon & D'Netto, 2007).
Teachers observe the impacts of differences caused by diversity, but they neglect the power of diversity and fail to initiate cross-examinations to handle diversity disparity (Hill, 1997).
“There are many challenges — and the diversity of the student population is merely one. Perhaps some new teachers become ‘overwhelmed’ with the many difficulties and lose their idealism and enthusiasm” (Causey et al., 2000, p.43).
Children who are diverse from the mainstream backgrounds are considered inferior as they receive remedial instruction due to culturally, racially, and linguistically different backgrounds (Juvonen et al., 2018).
